The context

IE University

IE is an international university based in Spain that offers programs in business administration, international relations, economics, law, sciences, technology, design, and humanities. Recognized as a leading educational institution in Europe and the world, IE delivers several master’s degrees included in the top 10 in the world according to the Financial Times, The Economist, Forbes, QS and other rankings.

With around 10,000 students, 83% of them from foreign countries, and an active network of over 80,000 alumni from 176 countries, IE is characterized by its diversity and openness to the world. The University is supported by 31 international offices, which organize over 2,000 events every year.

IE New York College

IE University will replace college-founder Glasgow Caledonian University as the sole member of Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC) which will be renamed IE New York College (IENYC) upon regulation approval. With this change of control, IE University becomes a custodian of the project to establish a state-of-the-art college with a focus on Business and Sustainability in SoHo.

IE University and the future IE NYC will be separate, independent institutions. However, they share a complementary academic mission, aiming to drive positive change through education, research, and innovation. Both institutions have a significant focus on business and advancing the sustainability agenda.

Office of the Provost

The Office of the Provost supports the long-term strategic planning of the University, manages academic partnerships and alliances, and further develops other strategic partnerships with non-academic institutions. The Office also hosts the Center for the Governance of Change and the Center for Health and Well-Being.

Project Management Unit

IE University is committed to providing a comprehensive suite of support services to ensure the success of IENYC. These services are related to marketing, recruitment and admissions, academic support, IT, library resources, alumni relations, career services, legal assistance, financial and tax advice, human resources, business analysis, administration, procurement, and more. To facilitate the design, management, and evaluation of these services, IE University will establish a Project Management Unit (PMU) at the Office of the Provost. This unit will work closely with IE NYC as well as various departments and schools within IE University.

The Director of the Project Management Unit will be responsible for facilitating IE University’s operational, academic and program support services for the establishment and development of the College. This role requires exceptional project management and strategic planning skills, as well as a good understanding of curriculum development, academic partnerships, and higher education standards. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Strategy and Development, the Director will play a key role in coordinating and communicating with staff, faculty, and providers from both institutions.
