Job Summary






Full-time, tenure-track Director of BSW Program which includes oversight of the CAS (College of Arts and Sciences) in-person BSW program with oversight of the CAS (College of Arts and Sciences) online BSW program. Teaching across BSW and MSW programs as necessary.






Responsibilities






Primary responsibilities include direct oversight for all aspects of the BSW program designed to meet CSWE accreditation standards in the provision of high quality advanced social work education. The BSW program director will be responsible for the administration of the CAS BSW face-to-face program and will collaborate with the associate program director of the CAPS online for oversight of the BSW program.  The BSW program director reports to the chair of the Department of Social Work and works collaboratively in the oversight of the administrative functions of the BSW program including implementation of all aspects of the BSW program details, adherence to accreditation standards for CSWE program compliance, assessment and reporting, development of innovative curriculum programming for classroom and field, and working with the Director of Field Education to ensure excellence in the alignment of field education with curriculum. The position also carries with it a 75% teaching load. Expected of every faculty member is a strong commitment to the educational mission, the faith-based mission and values, and growing diversity on campus. The BSW program director role is allocated a .25 FTE; teaching advising and institutional service is allocated the other .75 FTE of the full-time position.






Skills






The preferred candidate will have demonstrated leadership in social work settings with experience managing staff. The preferred candidate will have a record of excellence in the classroom, a strong record of community practice, knowledge of social work in higher education, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, think creatively, and work effectively in team settings. The candidate will demonstrate knowledge of and a commitment to social justice activities, research, and professional practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations.

The successful candidate will be able to reflect on and/or demonstrate the relationship between Christian faith and the academic discipline including a strong emphasis on human rights, social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. Preference will be given for demonstrated competency in delivering hybrid learning pedagogy.

 






Experience






Strong professional experience in diverse social work settings, experience managing multiple systems, and experience teaching in social work higher education strongly preferred. Demonstrated competence in generalist social work practice; ability to teach and work with people from culturally diverse backgrounds; demonstrated ability to model social work professional values and ethics and to work effectively with colleagues; knowledge and experience in direct social work practice; experience in higher education and/ or leadership is preferred.

 






Education






Terminal degree in social work or related field preferred (Ph.D., DSW or Ed.D.) Masters in Social Work from CSWE accredited institution with two years post MSW experience required. Candidates must have the ability to establish professional social work licensure through the Minnesota Board of Social Work (LICSW, LISW, or LGSW).
