Chatham University is now welcoming applications for a Skills Adjunct Faculty.
The adjunct faculty member, under the supervision of the Program Director (PD), is responsible for providing an educational experience for our students that meets accreditation standards and comply with institutional and program's policies and procedures and has at least one year of clinical experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an adjunct position within the Clinical Skills for the PA I & II courses, which are the program's history and physical examination courses. The faculty member will be present in lab from 8:30-11:30am and 12:30-3:30pm one day per week; courses run from late August through end of April.
Instructional Responsibilities
- Provides classroom instruction as directed by the course director.

Provides laboratory instruction as directed by the course director, to include:
- Demonstration of physical examination techniques
- Demonstration of clinical procedure techniques
- Actively engages with students to answer questions on documentation and assessment techniques.

Assists in the assessment of students' knowledge, skills, and behavior, to include:
- Grading written patient history assignment
- Grading written documentation assignments for physical examination competencies
- Grading physical exam competencies
- Observing standardized patient encounters
- Participating in low- and high-fidelity medical simulation
- Providing constructive feedback to students on assessments
- Participates in monthly meetings regarding Clinical Skills for the PA I & II courses and curriculum implementation.
- Assists the course director in maintaining the laboratory and supply room.
- Assists in the maintenance of medical manikins and other simulation supplies in the direction of the course director.
- Assists in the reviewing of the didactic curriculum to comply with changes in accreditation requirements, program structure, and program philosophy, as needed.
- Participates in the review, recommendation, and procurement of instructional materials as requested by the course director.
Professional Responsibilities
Duties (as directed by the PD and Principal Faculty Course Director)
- Additional teaching or administrative responsibilities as directed by the PD and course director.
- Keeps the PD and Principal Faculty Course Director informed on the progress of all assignments.
- Participates in accreditation review, assessment, and implementation of changes on an ongoing basis.
Minimum requirements:
- Must be an NCCPA certified Physician Assistant.
- Must have at least 2 years of full-time clinical experience.
