Cancer and Cellular Biology Faculty (Tenure Track)

Temple University, Office of Physician & Faculty Recruitment
On-site
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Summary of Position

The Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology (DCCB) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University invites applications from qualified candidates for tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Translational scientists addressing questions pertinent to the causes and treatment of cancer are strongly encouraged to apply. While all applications will be seriously considered, we are particularly interested in research focused on lung cancer and/or studies of cancer metabolism. Applicants to this research-intensive position are expected to devote primary efforts to performing creative, high-impact studies supported by extramural funding.

The DCCB is a hub of innovative cancer research at the LKSOM, with laboratory space located near to other departments providing expertise in studies of metabolism, inflammation, and therapeutic development. Department members typically have secondary appointments at the nearby Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple Health, and benefit from access to extensive research facilities at Fox Chase. The goal of the DCCB is to conduct interdisciplinary research that leverages the strengths of these exceptional programs, and to serve as a bridge to other outstanding research and clinical initiatives across Temple. The successful candidate from this search will be well positioned to collaborate with members of the Temple Lung Center, one of the nation’s leading lung disease research centers, which serves a highly diverse patient population; and with thoracic oncologists and other clinical researchers at Fox Chase and Temple who lead national clinical trials for cancer.

Candidate Qualifications
• Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
• Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor.
• A commitment to support and promulgate diversity among faculty, staff, students and patients.
