The Division of Programs in Business (DPB) at the NYU School of Professional Studies is seeking an Academic Advisor who will be responsible for advising students on academic programs, policies and procedures. This individual will interpret University and school policies and recommend exceptions to policy, when appropriate.
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or related business area
2+ years relevant experience in student advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise staff. Ability to advise and provide solutions to problems. Knowledge of standard office software. Oral presentation and strong writing skills. Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to manage multiple projects and work with diverse student populations. Ability to diffuse conflicts and come up with creative solutions to complex problems.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $63,900.00 to USD $78,100.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
